Scotland’s Fyne Audio, a prominent loudspeaker manufacturer, has introduced its latest F500E range at the Warsaw Audio Video Show. This new series replaces the F300 lineup and incorporates Fyne’s cutting-edge Isoflare point source technology into its entry-level offerings, solidifying the brand’s commitment to Isoflare drivers throughout its entire loudspeaker collection. The F500E range features four models, each elegantly finished in black ash.
The smallest model available is the F5E speaker. The F501E serves as a floorstanding option. Additionally, there are two versatile LCR models that can function as left, right, or center speakers. The distinction lies in their drivers: the F5E LCR features a 125-millimeter Isoflare driver, while the larger F502E LCR is fitted with a 200-millimeter Isoflare driver.
Fyne Audio’s hallmark innovation is the IsoFlare driver, a coaxial design that positions the tweeter at the center of the midrange and woofer. This cutting-edge driver technology, which was once exclusive to premium models, has significantly contributed to the brand’s global acclaim. The F500E series offers exceptional stereo imaging and dynamic, detailed sound reproduction, making it an attractive option for audiophiles and home theater enthusiasts seeking quality on a budget.
Each IsoFlare unit in the F500E Series is equipped with Fyne’s distinctive multi-fiber cone, complemented by FyneFlute surround and titanium dome tweeters powered by robust neodymium magnet motors. The multi-fiber paper cones are engineered to provide a natural midrange and precise transient response, while the patented FyneFlute surround technology effectively manages cone energy to reduce harmful resonances.
The drivers are equipped with high-rigidity titanium diaphragms, measuring 19 millimeters for the 5-inch models and 25 millimeters for the 6-inch and 8-inch variants. This design enables the breakup modes to extend beyond 30 kHz, resulting in a smooth and extended treble response. Central to the driver is a waveguide that shapes the RF wave expansion within the chamber, providing the Isoflare driver with a full-bandwidth, time-aligned radial dispersion pattern, which the manufacturer claims ensures the most precise musical reproduction.
The F500E series is enhanced by meticulously designed crossovers that incorporate high-quality precision components, including low-loss LF laminated core inductors and premium HF film capacitors. The combination of these elements, along with thorough critical auditioning, guarantees optimal signal transmission and audio fidelity. The largest model, the floorstanding F501E, features bi-wired connections for versatile connectivity, while all models in the series utilize high-purity copper internal wiring to ensure exceptional signal clarity.
The enclosures of the F500E Series maintain a classic rectangular box design, yet they are built from highly rigid MDF, reinforced with suitable internal bracing and acoustic damping materials to minimize cabinet coloration. Fyne Audio’s innovative Basstrax Tractrix Diffuser System is incorporated into the down-firing port, transforming the energy from the standard wave port into a 360-degree spherical wavefront through a Tractrix profile diffuser cone. This design results in consistent LF sound distribution, making the speakers less affected by their placement within a room.
The F5E and LCR models come with built-in wall brackets, facilitating straightforward installation and providing versatile options for both conventional stereo and home theater configurations. Each speaker in the F500E series features a black woodgrain vinyl finish with an ash wood appearance and includes a black grille that attaches magnetically. The F501E model offers the convenience of storing the grille at the back of the cabinet when it is not needed at the front.
